And Then There Was Jello

What's old is new.   All the young girls in their 30s thought I invented rainbow jello.   I have to say I think I outdid myself with the jello.  Pride goeth before a fall, but
how far can one fall from Jello?
Flowers from my nephew's wife Heather.  Yarn is for the baby blanket cast on....today .

The PiƱata activity was a hit.  Pun intended.  My great nieces and nephew had a good time whacking at the flip flop.  No one got hurt.....there's that catastrophizing I'm trying to stop.

I am going to make up for lost knit time the next two days.  I'm ready to have a knit marathon.  There will be a nap between events.  I get all jumpy when I haven't had my knit time in a few days...
knitting forces me to sit down and breathe.....
it makes me happy to be with myself....
it puts me in the present...

what does it do for you?

Knitting is a wonderful appetite suppressant, except when chocolate is nearby.

Today I am heart-mind-body-soul in the hospital with GD#3 for more tests, and though I have my knitting with me I am still jumpy!! Some days even knitting doesn't help!

Knitting, sewing (usually calming, depending on the project) and reading are my calming activities.

I'm making good progress on my "Knit-Lympics" projects, but instead of feeling satisfaction over 1 pair of socks finished I am all antsy over getting the next one cast on so I can knit while I watch tonight. I have to keep reminding myself... no pressure, this is for FUN, chill OUT! But my goal is in front of me and I am too competitive to NOT try hard to get there.

Knitting is the perfect procrastination tool for not cleaning my house. I'm trying to develop more self-discipline about this, but when somebody sends a yarn storming box of yarn, it's difficult to clean when I can be knitting:-)

Knitting for me is like sitting in an oasis, cold drink in hand, calmed by floral scented breezes.

I can't remember what knitting does for me. I rarely have time these days...

Oh knitting gives me time to wool gather and let my mind wander. However, sometimes it also calms me. Glad the party, jello and pinata were a hit! g

Love that baby yarn! And the jello. Bet it was a hit. I've sure done a lot of frogging during the Olympics....all that excitement makes it hard for me to focus, I guess.
