Summer Flies Faster

Karen's insisting on giving me the Summer Flies shawl. Its blocked and its awesome.  I feel so lucky.  I will always think of us sitting on her deck this summer while she worked on it.  Her deck is nestled among pine trees and lush bushes.  It reminds us both of the Northwoods.  It is her haven, like my screened porch is mine.   We don't sit for long, but we touch base there....and it is good for both of us.

It is too soon for me to post about my little grown up girl taking off for V.B. Today.  We did good.  No hysterical crying.  Just smiles and tears that couldn't be withheld.   I have to stop it right now or I'll dissolve in a puddle....

May I just say that all your thoughts and prayers have sustained me. I feel peaceful about not being in CHARGE at all.   My Higher Power has a plan and that's good by me.   I will call good things to our family as we move about a bit...and May I just say, that it is awesome to have a job where you can call work at 0449 from home and have a friend say , "there there" without waking anyone up.

Staycation is nearly over......it FLEW by.   Staycation co incided with CampHomeIFYOUCANSTANDIT and CAMPKEEPFIREMANBUSY.   I don't know if I would have scheduled it this way, but life has a way of turning out how it is supposed to turn out.  Good that I wasn't overtired and a cranky pants while my family has been with me, eh?   Good that I was not exhausted and weeping for naught.

Staycation plans for today include:

Knitting a baby stocking cap that I started yesterday.  I'm doing this patternless, and impressing the pants off myself.

Considering begging the neighbors for a dip in their pool later-

Hitting the Carson's sale for a tiny bit this morning-

A big old nap in the A/c

the possibility of Zach and I going to Paradise Pup
and

quite possibly going to a local festival with my friends tonight, but it is going to be so darn hot, Im not sure I can do it......

Staycation....I love you.

The shawl is beautiful! Sounds like you have a great plan for today. As hot as it's been a dip in the pool sounds nice :) Have a lovely day!

That is definitely a beautiful shawl although I guess you aren't exactly having shawl weather at the moment, eh? (It's just 55 again here this morning but at least the sun's out.) Have a fabulous day, and enjoy every minute of it!) Hugs.

I'm glad you had a wonderful STAYcation.

Good luck to Al in her travels. You have raised a wonderful young woman. I look forward to hearing about her adventure in Virginia.

P.S. I know all about that last leave --- it was SO hard when Stephen moved out. But, ya know .... that's what we've raised them to do, if we've done our jobs right.

Beautiful shawl and a great memory of the staycation and how much relaxing you had. It's a good thing all the camps lined up.

Breathe. It will all be okay. g

(((HUGS))) to you as your baby bird flies the nest. My baby bird flew two years ago and my oldest baby bird is still here. Once in a while I find myself trying to push her out, but my heart says "Stop you fool!"

I want to sit on your screened in porch with you and knit sometime. Sounds lovely.

If a summer evening was a tangible thing, it would look just like that shawl!
