Resurrected

Both of these shots were taken from the former garbage dump site in our town.  Out of the garbage a golf course high on a hill was created.  You can see the city from the driving range, and you can see the Techny Towers (a religious Seminary) too.  Whenever I am up there, I feel peaceful.

Also resurrected......my, our, computer.  Again, big thanks to Katherine for posting images earlier in the week.  While I love your suggestions one and all,  and I'd love to find an adult sippy cup, there will be no beverages near my work station anymore.  Lessons, that's plural, learned.

Three times now I've resurrected the QuoV. yarn from Emily's giveaway.  It has yet to find its permanent shape.  I successfully cast on for two garments and didn't like either.  While I was happy that I could, indeed, knit the sea foam scarf pattern, it didn't' do the yarn justice.  I frogged after two repeats of the pattern.  Earlier on the beach yesterday, I tried to  cast on with the same yarn and a different shawl pattern.  I fought with it too much.  Quo V.  frogged again.

Today, the bamboo is trying to be the Simple Ridges Shawlette.  So far so good.  (Linda Blakely pattern)

I"m hoping our lawn gets resurrected from its brown, dry dormancy. The heat has beaten it down, and I refuse to water a lawn.  Vegetables and flowers can get the water, but not the lawn.

The cicadas are singing again and I love that summery sound.   They are so cool resurrected from their shells each year.....

and finally,
Helo is now resurrected to Hero.  Fireman says if the cat is going to live with us, he cannot live with that name.  So we came up with Hero instead of Helo.  I  fell in love with the idea as soon as he suggested it.  Hero is starting to play with Bea each night around dusk.  Hero is beautiful. Wait till I show him to you.

Anything  come to life again in your neck of the woods?

We've got a resurrected golf course here also! (with a great view too) No one would ever guess it was once a dump. Like the kitty's new name, too. Hope your projects work for you ~ love your two gift shawls, you lucky gal. Am just getting caught up, our sun finally came out here and I've not been blogging much.

I pass that garbage dump golf course every day. I would never imagine it to be peaceful. I guess one never knows.

Nah .... summer time is when everyone heads indoors to escape the oppressive heat.

We'll see neighbors again come October. LOL

Too hot to be outdoors very long right now. I'm looking forward to Autumn!

I agree with Maple - can we fast forward to autumn? I'm starting to feel like my AC'd a is more like a prison than a room in my house!

Hmm, I've got several skeins of wool reclaimed from a thrifted sweater. I really MUST decided on how to use it, but it's too hot to even think of knitting with heavy wool.

I love it. "I Need a Hero" was a song that made me groan during the years I did recruitment for City Fire. It was the only song on our video loop and I can still hear it clear as day in my mind...

I don't really want to hurry fall and winter. Tho the heat makes us prisoners to the AC (which I don't have so I still get to open windows and hear the birds etc.) the SNOW and vial winter months makes me a prisoner in my home and in my mind (I get anxious with the winter months).
