Nature is Funny That Way

This was my attempt at the SEAFOAM scarf.  I discovered, that I can knit the pattern, but also found I didn't like knitting the pattern.  It didnt do this glorious prize yarn justice.  Still searching for justice for that yarn from Emily at Yarn Miracle.   Perhaps Fair Isle is in my nature and lace just is not...
Here are my Chocolate Joe Pye Weed plants .  We have 7 of them now and everyone loves their darkly shaded leaves.  They are supposed to be native to our area. They are supposed to attract butterflies to their flowers.  I've never seen a butterfly go near them.    Nature is funny that way.

I will not show you a picture of the skunk that waddled through my yard at dusk the other night.  This is going to sound crazy, but things here often do now don't they?  It was a beautiful creature. Nature is funny that way, eh?  It sauntered through the yarn near the bushes and disappeared under my giant hosta.

I am eating more greens lately.    Vegetables taste so good to me in the summer when they are fresh. Nature is funny that way eh?   If you want to point me in the direction of a great recipe I'd love it.

We smelled a skunk yesterday morning, near the cow farm. Better there than where the fur-girls could get sprayed...

Recipes? I don't cook in this heat, but Applebee's spinach berry salad (not its proper name, but...) is first-rate!!

I didn't get on with Seafoam either and I knit tonnes of lace. For a more straightforward scarf, can I recommend http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/favorite-scarf-ever. It's really easy and doesn't get boring.

You don't want to spend time knitting something that you don't like.

Skunks are beautiful creatures! The ones that pass through our backyard always look so clean. Go figure!!

Lace is not for everyone. Knit what you like I say! I'm off lace right now too. I started Wendy Johnson's KAL but can't seem to keep up.

Veggies: brown chopped up bacon, onions, garlic in olive oil. When you turn off the heat, throw in some Bok Choy, put on the pan lid and let it steam. Did I already tell you that? If so, you've heard it twice so it's time to try it. LOL!

Love that yarn color! Have you tried the Yarn Harlot's one row scarf? It's not lace but it is a pretty pattern.

Life's too short to knit something you don't love. Give yourself permission to frog Sea Foam and find a pattern you love to knit.

Okay, let me get this straight...the butterfly bushes attract skunks? Cool. I wonder what you'd get if you planted passion plants?

I had a dream last night that you made something with amazing intarsia and fair isle on it (mittens, maybe?)!

Nature IS funny that way, BUT then man interfers and it screws things up!

Watch that skunk - not only do they stink, they are great carriers of rabies. In Central NY we are having a terrible rabies problem..... fox, racoons, skunks.

Well, I'll take the lace knitting. You can have the fair isle.

I'll have to look up that scarf. The pattern looks interesting. Don't you just hate when that happens with a pattern? Good thing there are thousands of others out there!
