Good Things

 My friend Kathy C. made 50 hats for Haiti.  Look at them all!  I only made one for Haiti.  Kathy realized after a bit that she could crochet them much faster than knit them.  They are all cotton and all ready to send a warm and caring message to families a world away.  There is good in this world.  The simple act of creating something for someone else to wear is pretty profound in this day of anonymity, I think.  If you have never knitted for charity.....well you simply must try it. The feeling is wonderful .....and that's from the giving end!
Here is beautiful Hero, or Tank as we often  call him.  Formerly known as Helo, Al's half Siamese boy.
Tank comes alive at night.  He plays with Beatles a bit now. He is a shy boy .  He is talkative!  I think he's beautiful.  Wait till I show you his aqua eyes...they are stunning.  But he's too shy for close ups yet.

Amazing that your friend has completed so many hats, I can see why you are friends she must be lovely. Tank is adorable, glad he is getting used to his new family.

50 hats!! That puts me to shame! I can't seem to finish the one I've been working on for a week. That is truly wonderful!!

I love the name Tank and think you should call him that all the time. He is a very sturdy cat, and gorgeous!

Even without the closeup you can see that he has gorgeous eyes!

Our knit group did a charity knit two years ago. We knit 73 hats for a homeless shelter in Racine, WI. We even made the local paper. It was quite exciting knowing our hats were really appreciated.

Tank is breath-taking. My last cat was part Siamese... and I had a blue point I loved dearly before I went to college.

Fabulous on the hats. People like that inspire me. Right now, I just need to hit for my friends. One had a baby last week, one was due on the 17th and hasn't delivered yet, another has a shower next week, and another...

Hem. But first comes dinner.

50 hat????? Are her fingers worked down to little bitty nubbins? Hokey smokey that's a lot of flying crochet hooks. The cat probably slows you down a bit what with batting your needles(or hooks) like they were gyrating mice. Uh...yeah. yeah. It's the cat who's keeping your hat numbers down.

Oh boy, I think I am in love with Mr. Tank!

Those hats are wonderful. Our fellowship sponsors a husband and wife missionary team in Hati. They have been there for over 25 years.

I wholeheartedly agree! I donate comfort scarves to a charity who gives them to abused women shelters. It is a great feeling to know my knitting is helping someone heal.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. I'm Making Bunny Rabbits

  These are the one square bunnies .  They are a free pattern on Rave1ry.  I'm bunny making to force spring to come.  I'm a1so taking it easy on my hands again.  The med we tried did keep my hands from shaking, but it was a med for a med. and that's crazy town.  I can contro1 a hook much better than need1es.  It wi11 have to suffice for now.  I'm enjoying your b1ogs and your Spring.  This time of year I so want to 1ive in a southern state.  But this Spring is a new one for me and I'm going to find a way to 1ove it.   IT may have just gotten to 50.   Degrees.  I have to run.  There's very ear1y yardwork to do.   The birds have 1eft a rotten mess of sunf1ower she11s under the feeders.  I hope it is not frozen!  Have you been switching things up in your neck of the woods?   I haven't forgotten you, b1og pa1s.  I 1ove seeing you on Instagram .

Do You Smile When You Knit???

I am pretty sure I smile when I knit.  I'm going to think about that today when I pick up the baby blanket in progress.  I am also pretty sure I cry when I knit; well, not really.  I have shed some tears over the years but they were way back.  I surely scowl when I drop a stitch.   A time lapse of knitters' faces would be interesting enough .... Tank, aka Helo, is starting to smile around here.  Just look into those aqua eyes......they make me smile all the time. He is half Siamese and all gorgeous.
