Frosty Thoughts

I'm hosting a little porch party tonight; but I don't think we will actually be on the porch.  It is way too hot.  Nonetheless we will be together, huddled around the A/C, very possibly pushing one another out of the stream of cold air ......

I've started another baby stocking cap.  I'm using Al's leftovers from a few years ago.  How nice that yarn keeps well. What if it didn't?  What if we had to freeze it or something??  I'm just finding random fair isle rows and adding them as I go.

I cast on 116 stitches for this hat because the yarn is more delicate than worsted.  I ribbed for a couple of inches this time so I can roll up the brim.  (Extra warm for tiny ears) Then I knitted for an equal amount in stockinette before I began decreasing as follows:
Knit 11 Knit 2 together.
Now Im knitting straight a bit before the next decrease. I think Im finished with fair Isle because you won't see it well as the hat tapers down.

I've been trying some frosty drinks and here are my opinions....

McDonalds Very Berry Chiller.....tastes rather like a chemical.  Not so good.

Wendy's Frosty......fantastic, but you have to use a spoon it is so thick.

Dairy Queen Artic Freeze.....very very good but oh that head freeze

Dunkin Donuts Mocha Cooler....too much chocolate syrup....(Really? There can be too much? Yup)

Starbucks anything.....too expensive but wonderful

7/11 Slurpee.....it will do in the dead of winter when no one else has a frosty drink available.

please, chime in!

Sweet little hat!

I like iced beverages but have to be in the mood for a frozen one.

Love me some baby hats. I'm a Starbucks fan, myself, but I'd never turn down something cold, thick and sweet - ever!

I love the hat. Looking forward to the finished project!

I am addicted to the 7/11 Slurpee. Any day any time!! I'm also enjoying the ice cream machine. I put Margarita mix in it a few days ago and had decadent sorbet.

cold starbucks big fan but to expensive emma and i make smmothies and iced coffee and iced tea and passion tea lemonade at home all the time-we buy the tea from starbucks and for what the tea costs we can make 4 to 5 gallons of passion tea lemonade saving us about $90.00( there is 128oz to a gallon if we buy a venti which is 20 oz for $3.00 at home we would get 6 servings so 6x3=18 dollars and 18 dollars times 5 gallons =$90.00 bucks)adds up fast hence the reason we make ours at home

Cute hat, and you are making me very thirsty. Have fun knitting and chatting and pushing each other out of the way of the air conditioner.
Hugs,
Meredith

I don't do anything with coffee. I love frozen drinks. Sonic slushes are on of my favorites. I like the Lemonberry slush. Tart lemon slush with fresh strawberries.

Oh...I love the review of drinks. I had a berry chiller from Micky D's the other day. I thought it was okay, but was soooo thirsty, I slurped it down in a couple of gulps. My favorite is the mango pineapple smoothie. But I have to go alone with the suggestion of a margarita for a summer cooler.

That's a really cute hat. Hey, kathyb, you have GOT to do Pioneer Woman's Perfect Iced Coffee Concentrate. It's SO wonderful and less expensive than trying to buy it several times a week at a drive through!

I've been making iced coffee drinks at home using the domed lids I bought at Starbucks for my cold cups. I bought chocolate and caramel syrup and even whipped cream so I can do it right. Way cheaper than Starbucks but just as good!
