Staycation

Karen finished her Summer Flies Shawl yesterday.  That woman is a Phenom, I tell you.  I love the color of the shawl and they way it bends so beautifully round and round.

I took the image of the thorny thing last night.  I think it is thistle... The downy middle is what birds like goldfinches put in their nests.  Nature amazes me time and time again.

Winner winner chicken dinner: Channon won the lace fair and square.  Number generator is easy fast and fun to use.  Channon the blue lace is headed to Virginia.....how appropriate....maybe I'll have Al deliver it.

I've started my Staycation.  Staycation is awesome.  I have lots planned and nothing planned all at the same time.  If I want to do things I will, if I don't I won't.  Some perks to stay cation:

*I don't have to pack....
ANYTHING.  Not underwear, not makeup, not yarn even!

*I don't have to wonder if the bed I'm sleeping in is really clean.....it's mine!

*I don't have to do laundry when I get back.

*I dont' have to stop the mail.

*I don't have to drop the camera in the lake.

But I do have to protect my staycation time so it really is a stay cation.

I'll give you my tips along the way.

But, what am I knitting on stay cation?  Well, I'm working on the Cardi Shrug.
That's it so far.
But it's stay cation so stay tuned...anything may happen.  Even a dishrag...

I have never had a staycation, I think it is a wonderful idea. My problem is that I would be cleaning and organizing and not staycationing at all. How is the shrug coming along?

Beautiful photos. I too believe that is thistle.

Love me a staycation, or a quick trip to the beach house... but I do have to pack for that. Hem.

A screened in porch, a glass of wine, perfect low humidity, a small summer breeze and knitting with a curled up feline is thee best staycation I could ever ask for!

I could have all of it except the screened in porch - so add bugs to my staycation and we are there!

Staycations are amazing. :) I got a free day off due to Tropical Storm/Depression - Deby. So I should thank her I suppose. I have just found your blog and i really enjoy hearing about your friends. I hope you don't mind me commenting. And the shawl is beautiful. I love the color and love having caught up (Somewhat) I still have a few years to go :)

I've been working on my house during my summer break. I need to begin a staycation today, too. I love your photos.

Enjoy the Staycation! That's probably what I'll be having this year too, with the wedding next week and the build-up, up to my eyes in wedding cake baking tonight! Thanks for the comment on my post on my blog prize, I'll reply over there too! You seem to be such a giver I hope you get something nice back soon, like what goes around comes around as we say in Ireland ;)

I have a hard time truly doing a "staycation". Since I work from home it seems I still get sucked back into the quilting room and back to quilting on customer quilts. And then there are the day to day things that I have a hard time getting away from. Someone around here likes to eat homecooked meals regularly... maybe I should have HIM cook? Not sure I could eat what he dishes up, unless it is cooked on the grill. He does a great job of that!

Enjoy your time... get lots done (both relaxing and knitting). And thanks for sharing your staycation with us! I can't wait to see what all you do this week.

Yay! Staycations are awesome!

I'm sure some bike rides are on your list somewhere. And lots of knitting.

Enjoy it, friend!

See a staycation can be a good thing!!! The worst part of vacation for me? The packing. HATE IT!

Make sure to do some touristy things around your area!

Love staycations! The best part is getting up in the morning for coffee on the porch and not having to go to work.
