One Pedi Sock Done

Steal Like an Artist is a new book I found out about today.  One of the authors 10 tips for fueling your creativity is:
Creativity is Subtraction.

You have to know what to leave OUT as well as put in to your works.  So since my toes are not yet professionally pedicured for the summer, I left my toes out of the image above....  Tomorrow, I plan to sit still for a pedicure.

The flower, looks best alone in the image above I think.  It doesn't need to share the image with the fence or other flowers..... I took the picture on a walk around the block one day when the light was nice.

I usually think about my blog post for the day for a bit before I write it out.   You would laugh if you knew all the things I've sent to the Delete button before the post is DONE.   Here's something I could leave out, but won't:  Just like Creativity is Subtraction, Medicine is not Math.  That is what
I tell families.

Doing this and this to a body does not mean THIS will happen.   You can do the same thing to different bodies and get completely different results.  It is one of the hardest things about illness.......Medicine is not Math.  Then again, if you believe in a Higher Power, the realization that Medicine in Not Math is wonderful.  Sometimes amazing things happen in the equation.....(not always, not even often, but SOMETIMES)....

Go ahead, leave me comment and don't leave anything out unless you want to!

I love how you left in a piece of the fence board. It adds a rustic contrast to the beautifully delicate flower!

Pretty sock and stunning flower.

I love that... medicine is not math.

Nothing to leave out here. I just want a nap, and I don't believe there is one on the agenda.

I never thought about creativity coming from omission, but it is very true. Clearly something to ponder.

Love the pedi-socks! CUTE! You are right... omission helps us focus on the important stuff... in life and in art.

I once said to a surgeon, as I was going into surgery, that I would pray for him. He stopped and picked up my hand, held it and said "Thank you. You do us both a service." I think we both knew that medicine is not math!

I'm in the middle of continuing education tests--wish I could leave that out!!
