Potato Chip Knitting

Yes, still knitting the Life Is Good Scarfettes. I really love how they look when you pull the end through the buttonhole slit and you don't have to TIE a knot or use a shawl pin to get it to STAY. This one will be gifted. I love the forest-like color way: String Theory's Cedar. The stitch definition is wonderful.
Fireman caught a nice size bass last week. He caught it right off the pier. We also caught about 30 crappie. Our friend Larry has a great recipe for fried crappie. Fireman made them for the firehouse on Saturday night. The batter has Ritz crackers in it. I have to say eating the crappie was like eating potato chips.....I could not stop at one.
The workend was kind of brutal from a sleep deprivation stand point. Sometimes, I wonder why I work that shift. I am still tired and it is Tuesday morning. Oh well, coffee and a good nap today and I'll be reset.
This begs the questions: Can you ever sleep too much? Can you ever knit too much?

Bless you and others who work the night shift. It must play havoc on your body. Get some rest today and allow your body to get back to its natural rhythm.

No, you can never sleep too much, or knit too much, and you can NEVER get too much crappie! It is the absolutely BEST fish! We season our in a mix of seasoned salt and lemon pepper, then saute in just a little olive oil in a non-stick pan because we are trying to eat a little healthier in our older years. We have decided we like them best this way. I never thought I would see the day I chose sauted fish over fried! Happy fishing, and knitting to you!

My grandpa would LOVE the fish your Fireman caught! He would have that gutted, cleaned and in the frying pan in 10 minutes....on his plate with ketchup and gone in 30!!! (He put ketchup on EVERYTHING!!!!)

NEVER enough time for knitting and I will never be able to get enough knitting (or sleep).

i wish I understood sleep cycles---I was up for hours last night, tried twice to go to bed but wound up up again, then slept in way to late this morning---I don't have a schedule but I am always afraid if I sleep in too late or take a nap that I won't sleep at night, but I still don't sleep at night (i know it is stress)

As I get older I tend to sleep when I feel sleepy/tired and sometimes that is not during the night! I agree with Nancy that we have a natural body rhythm and need to listen to it. I'm in favor of napping when a nap strikes!!

I love the scarfette and the woodsy colors. They would be great Christmas gifts.

Love the scarf. I think I need to knit one.

Nice fish. I've never cared for crappies, but in a Ritz crust? How bad could it be?!

Jealous x 1000. I love crappie but my sister doesn't catch many. My brother did when they were on vacation in Virginia but I wasn't there to enjoy them.

I went to bed before 8 last night, so I'll go with no, you can never sleep too much. Knitting might require more thought....

Congrats on your mindful fiber win!

I don't have Haydee's recipe. She is 85 and told me it was a secret. All I know are the ingredients I listed in the post!
