ON GUARD

Rosalyn seems to be guarding my Life Is Good knitting. We are all ON GUARD it seems for the NATO summit in Chicago this weekend. It is as if the media wants a news story to break at any moment. I'm just hoping for peace.....
I am nearly finished with the Berroco Denim Life Is Good. I'll show it to you next post...
Here's something to crow about.....we have some Crows in our neighborhood. I love them. We lost many of them to West Nile Virus a few years back. I love their smarts, their flight and their Native American Lore. Seems if a crow comes into your life you are in flux. They are the harbingers of change. You are to get out of your current nest and look about.
. "If crow flies into your life, get out of your familiar nest, look beyond your present range of vision, listen to its caw and act accordingly"
I love metaphors. I have been in the midst of change since March. Good change. I'm glad to see the Crow (s) around again. I hope they stay. We have some very tall old trees on our lot that we refused to cut down years ago despite their blandness. My hope is that they trees are roosts for many birds about. We also have a lone elm that is surviving.
I've seen a wren, a goldfinch, the Crows, cardinals and sparrows this week. The bats that fly over the yard in summer haven't shown themselves to us yet this year. Not many mosquitos to eat yet, but Lord knows they'll come!
So here's to the crows, the big beautiful mysterious crows return. Anything you want to crow about?

Interesting. I rarely see crows in the woods... but we saw them on the farm all the time.

To crow about? Very quiet day here. Breakfast out with the Knight and his BFF.

Oh I love this. There are lots of crows in my neighborhood and just yesterday I was walking Max and there was one sitting on a low branch just watching us walk by. Thanks for checking on me today, I am not better only because my Father has gone off the deep end, but this to will pass.
Hugs,
Meredith
I did not know that about crows!!
That is super interesting!
I have recently had what seems like a whole family of crows move in to one of the trees in my backyard, and I was looking at them yesterday, and wondering why!!
Thanks to you, now I know why!!

I'm so glad their presence has a meaning because we have an abundance of crows, red-winged blackbirds and starlings. I will welcome change!!

We had a pet crow when I was a kid. His name was George. LOL

Funny thing ---- we DID move shortly after George arrived.

I saw a cardinal today. So unexpected, and so beautiful!

I have always thought of crows as being loud neighborhood bullies who try to get into my trash on trash day. Thank you for a more positive perspective! I will think twice next time I hear that loud "caw".

we have always had crows around, but I grew up hearing that if a crow stayed alone near your home and kept cawing someone who died was trying to tell you something. So we have always called the crows by the first names of folks who left us.

Like Dee we had a pet crow and a pet robin ---rescues at the time but they were named Frances because dad never knew if they were male or female

I've noticed the crows are back in my neighborhood, too. I know I have many changes coming. Wonder if the crows can tell me what they are?
I saw a cardinal today. So unexpected, and so beautiful!

Thank you for post.

Rosalyn is a real cutie! Crows mean change? I'd not heard that, but we sure have a lot of them around, especially after our Korean dogwood sets its "fruit". My only objection to crows is that they seem to drive away the other littler birds.....
