Friday Thoughts Here At Irisheyes

Meg is making necklaces. She's teaching herself from a book titled, Betsy Beads. Isn't her white beaded choker lovely?? Meg is a fearless crafter/creator. Then there's me; I'm currently knitting a baby hat.

Here are a few things I've been thinking about this week, just because: *I stopped at a lemonade stand in my neighborhood yesterday. It was hot, it was humid. The lemonade was...well sub par. Why? Because it had nutrasweet in it. The kids in my neighborhood are so accustomed to drinking beverages with Nutrasweet, that when I asked about it they were baffled.

We all have our THINGS. I would not allow my kids to eat nutrasweet. Ever. I also wouldn't let them drink from drinking fountains, but they now tell me they did it all the time! A mother can try....

I have great thoughts on a new bra. What does this have to do with knitting? Well you need to be comfortable while knitting right? The Playtex 18 hour wire free maximum shoulder pampering bra gets two thumbs up from me. The shoulder pads have gel in them. You don't even notice them while you are wearing the bra.
Next? Well I figured out why I have been so exhausted. I mean extra tired. I mean waking up tired and counting the moments until my nap.....I was beginning to worry. About: Mono, auto immune disease and the like..... then I remembered: I gave blood on Friday. Steak anyone????
I was very relieved to solve that puzzle. So nutrasweet, brassieres, and fatigue. Or, just another day here at Irisheyes!

I can't believe someone would do lemonade and NOT say it was artificially sweetened. Did they not think about the people that can't tolerate NutraSweet?

The beaded choker is lovely. But, I'd be knitting baby hats with you. LOL

I refuse to use water fountains, too, no matter how clean it looks.

Oh yes, gel straps are really comfortable!

The interior of my house is being painted, so I've been moving piles from room to room all week. I will be so glad when this project is finished.

Enjoy that steak!

The choker is stunning.

I need new bras... all of 'em. Weight loss means I'm not the same size I used to be.

I'm amazed by the choker. I have to show it to my jewelry making DIL!!

I too dislike Nutrasweet!

I haven't thought about bras since I discovered the Genie bra.

I am a professional napper. DH tells people he has seen me nap standing up (in a long line at a ticket booth). I promise I was only resting my eyes!!

hmmm - interesting conversations you have. That lovely little necklace is amazing. random thoughts: we use real - sugar, butter, ect. in small doses, there is nothing wrong with it. Water fountains - I let my dogs drink from them. Bras - apparently menopause is finally being generous. g

I am so against any kind of artifical sweetner and we always have been I can remember 31 years ago reading about how the synthetic products produce wood alcohol in the brain. I shared it with a friend, who scoffed at me--after all she didn't want her son on sugar---he wound up on Ritalin and is now an overweight 33 year old. I too am a fan of gel straps and I wonder how next weekends trip to the bra fitter will go. Check out anewyarn123 on Ravelry to see some more awesome bead work!!!

That is interesting about the drinking fountain. We had one put in our garage years ago. The kids in the neighborhood played at our house and we were going through so many water bottles. Finally we put in a drinking fountain and the problem was solved. I clean it frequently and the water is sooooo cold! I am thinking about knitting, Friday night baseball, my son's swim meet tomorrow and gardening. Glad you figured out why you are so tired, EAT!
