Do you KNITPICK?

First things first: Here's adorable Babka. Elaine deserves as lovely a picture, so I am still working on her Blog debut. I think it is nearly safe to say they will both make it. Thanks for all the kind words, it was a rough go round.
Hope your Mother's Day was lovely. Mine was so nice in many respects. I'm a lucky mom.
So do you KnitPick? I got their catalogue today. I am always wow'ed by their color way choices. I ordered a machine was sock yarn from them years ago, and it felted anyhow. Soured me a bit. Have they gotten better? Their prices are so good, but not if they don't deliver in quality. Has anyone had good success? Maybe my experience was a fluke....
Gorgeous outside today. IM up from nightshift sleep in time to enjoy the porch and go water the newly planted marigolds and coleus. My roses are finally opening up. My peonies are closed but not so tightly. My astilbe is sending up shoots. The iris have buds.....what a glorious time of year in Chicago.
Sending you sunshine!

Babka is my kinda' cat. The last cat of my life was Socrates, a black siamese mix with a little white under his chin...

I've not had great luck with KP either. They had the hue I wanted for a shawl for a friend last summer, so I hope the yarn holds up!

I DO KnitPick. So far, my two pair of KnitPicks socks have held up well. I think the yarn was Felici which has been discontinued.

Several girls in my knitting group really like KP's Shine yarn.
Hi There, I'm trying to catch up after being gone for a week. It's great to be home --but OH--so much to do!!!!!

I do not knitpick---but I've been known to 'nitpick' about many things before in my life.... I used to put everything in its place and every little thing was just where it needed to be... Since I've gotten older, things like that don't bother me much anymore!!!!! ha

Hugs,
Betsy

So happy that Babka and Elaine are doing well. It's so hard to lose kitties.

I have ordered from KP before, I LOVE their needles, and I've ordered their peruvian wool in bulky. Knit up lovely but I dont know how it lasted because I sent it on to a charity. The pair of socks I knit from them ended up felting when my DH helped with laundry. I do have a blogger friend who swears by them. She orders the wool/nylon blend of sock yarn and has never had a problem.

All of my circular needles are from Knit Picks. I love the flexible cables. They stand behind their products and will replace needles if the cables come apart from their needle. They might replace yarn, too, if you contact Customer Service.

Babka is so cute and is looking healthier all the time.

I do KnitPick but mostly for sock, DK and fingering weight yarns. Palette is one of my favorites. Also, the organic cotton I am using for the current sweater is from KP and it is some of the best cotton I've ever used.

Your flowers sound gorgeous. Glad you are having good gardening weather!

Such a sweet kitty picture. i have contemplated Knitpicks so many times but I have not ordered yet. I have to say that I still like to touch yarn before I buy it so I tend to buy it locally if I can.
Happy Tuesday,
Meredith

What an adorable kitty.

I had some knitpicks machine wash felt too. Now I handwash everything handknit. My kids however, do not. So....

I ordered DPN from them. Those are great. I ordered a DPN holder, and that wasn't very good. It was cheap cardboard. It didn't last long.

I am so happy Babka is going to make it and the other one as well. She looks so much better. You are a good "Momma". Hope she finds a permanent home to get spoiled in (like the one she has now!)

I have mostly positive thoughts about Knitpicks. I have their needles (harmony and nickel) and I love them and their cables are great. They do stand by their products.

I have not ordered much yarn from them, but what I have I like. Their prices are great and in my financial situation I honestly can not afford LYS wool.

I have used mostly KnitPicks yarn, since there are not many "local" yarn shops in the South, and none close to me. I have knit probably 20 pairs of socks from their super-wash merino and nylon blend (I think the specific yarn I use is called "Stroll"). I machine wash and dry my socks... none have ever shrunk or felted. I have also used their Felici self-striping yarn. LOVE that stuff! It is very soft and squishy. It does pill a little more than the other yarn, but I have never had it to felt or shrink.
