Thanks for the Prayers...Knitting helps

Thanks to you all who are praying for my father. He is stable. Looking at surgery after literally breaking his neck. In great hands at our hospital. Mom doing okay too. Any and all prayers appreciated!~

I grabbed my garter shawl knitting and scooped up my mom and off we went to wait for him to arrive in ICU from a satellite hospital. Al was able to greet her grandpa in the ER when he arrived as she was working. Funny she has had premonitions about this very type of thing with my father. She is so good and has a way with him that no one else does. She gives it to him straight and he actually takes it from her.

Once we were all at the museum together for the BODYWORKS exhibit. A young girl, goth walked by with ear piercings and the like. My father started to comment negatively and Al told, him :
Papa, Get over it. He did. He still laughs and says only she could have told him that and gotten away with it.

Funny, I got away with nothing...and still don't with him! Ahhh grandchildren are a gift.

I was able to knit my easy peasy shawl while I chatted with my mom. I am so happy to be able to have my knitting with me crazy day ] in and crazy day out.

This image of my newly bloomed daffodil/jonquil came out so lovely. Im getting used to my new Fuji camera.

Thanks again for all prayers and well wishes. My parents have tremendous faith, but get anxious anyhow like most of us, under duress!

Knitting does help in stressful times especially when it comes to the health of your parents. I have found this out recently. Less than six months ago my father had a stroke of which he is recovering nicely. Then on feb 21 my mother had a 10 hour emergency surgery for an aortic aneurysm. My father was at the hospital every day with her. She came home this past Friday afternoon.
I have knit a lot since this happened. I have been driving a lot to go to either the hospital or take my parents other places but the knitting is always with me.

I am glad to hear that your father is stable. all the best for blessing to come your way with his health.

Sorry I missed the first post about your dad!! All of you have been in my prayers since the moment I read about it! I know he will weather the surgery well with all the love he has around him. I bet Al's touch is healing to him as well as her gentle words. Bless you all!!

Sorry to hear about your father. I pray that all goes well with the surgery.

There is something about knitting that is comforting and soothing during times of stress. It keeps the hands and the mind busy.
