Sock Pair Number Four for 2012 DONE!

Yup they are finished. Koigu and Claudia Handpaint combo in basic sock top down style.
I nearly frogged them early on, early as in past the first heel. Thanks to all of you cooler heads that advised me to keep going. Today I get to cast on for something new. OH new cast on day, I love you!

Jane at work gave me this wooden thing, this weekend. Is it a hat blocker? She found it at a resale shop and thought a knitter needed it. She thought it was a yarn palette. I'm not sure. So dear wise friends, what is it?

Congrats on another pair of terrific socks! I've never seen anything like that blocker/palette thing either, interesting!

Beautiful socks.

That ... thing reminds me of a yarn/floss holder from my cross stitch and needlepoint day.

Wow, four pairs of socks so far this year! Great job.

Chan is correct that the item is for for holding yarn for needlepoint. Smaller ones are made for counted cross-stitch floss. I guess you could use it as a hat blocker.

The sock picture showed up and they are lovely and your palette picture did not, but it sounds like what I used to use during my crewel days when we changed colors to embroider a scene.

I have knit o socks this year---been so busy with so many other things!!!

The socks look great.

I concur --- a yarn separator is my guess too.

Oh I love the sockies!!! Number four--well done!

I'm going with hat blocker because I have always wanted something that would do a really good job of blocking Fair Isle hats. Works for me!

It looks like something you put your iron on to cool, but what do I know. Love the socks, great job.
