Words and Words and More Words

Fireman is rereading Metal Cowboy. I have started Modoc the Elephant Story. I have not even opened Shangai Girls yet. As for Easy knits.....they do appear super easy. I will be picking a pattern from the book and knitting it up. Just not sure which one yet.....

I was a writing major before I switched gears to Nursing Education. I am a fussy picky reader. If the writing isn't really good, I dump the book fast....
I'm a book snob. I am so happy to have raised readers and writers. Zach is an exceptional writer and sees the world in a unique light. Al is finally pursuing some writing and she has a knack as well. Al and Zach are avid readers. Fireman is now, too.

I would love to write a book someday. I will. I just can't decide what to write about. You are supposed to write about what you know. I know Nursing, but the stories are not to be believed....trust me. I dont envision fiction that is for sure...
I am in no hurry. The blog is writing for me nearly daily.

I cheat with the blog though. You all are so generous with me. My grammar is for naught, I never plan what I am writing, or rewrite the posts.

What are you reading? Are you writing? Does my grammar drive you cuckoo? I know, too, about flying over the Cuckoo's nest.....but that is too near to my heart right now....someday I may write about sanity....

Maybe I'll get back to publishing articles. I did that a decade ago. It was kind of fun....
Do you love to write? I say, I have diarrhea of the fingers.......Sometimes I just cannot stop...

I'm reading The Happiness Project. The author has a strange view of how to attain happiness.

I'm reading fluff - coffee house cozy mysteries right now. I used to be a very snobby reader, sticking to non-fiction and stuff that sounds like it came off of a college Lit course list, but then knitting took over and I stopped reading and...

I love to write! I took some writing courses in college. I also get careless with grammar when blog/comment writing. I think it is the nature of the genre.

I seem to be stuck on mystery novels lately, but good ones (Michael Connelly and Lee Childs). I'm a freak for Lee Childs' Jack Reacher books. I honestly would rather read than knit.

I'm going to read the Heart Shaped Box. It's by Stephen King's son. I have it on hold at the library. Just need to go pick it up.

I just started the latest Janet Evanovich, "Smokin' Seventeen"
I finished Heather Graham, "Heart of Evil" last night. We are all avid readers but I think DH and daughter#2 are the best writers in our family. I tend to struggle with what I want to say and then get very wordy. lol. I also listen to books on cd so I can knit at the same time!(currently listening to "Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins)

Fair and square you are my official 8000th comment on irisheyes. A prize is headed your way. I had an unannounced contest, knowing my comment counter was nearing a milestone...

I used to write poetry but I haven't done that in a long time. I really don't blog as often as I should either.

I'm not the grammar police so I don't comment on that. I know I make mistakes on my blog so why criticize someone elses. If I don't like it the way it's written I don't continue reading and move on.

I listened to Shanghai Girls over a year ago. I was so disappointed that it 'ended' as it did. But you are fortunate!! The 2nd book, Dreams of Joy, is out now and picks up where Shanghai left off. Btw, I love Shanghai. I'm in the middle of Dreams of Joy. :-)
