Hormones....

What do hormones and my finished green suede shawl have to do with one another? Nothing....
but I did get your attention didn't I? We will talk of the power of hormones in paragraph...hang on.

I finished the shawlette for Karen. I do need to take Franklin's class. I feel the images I give you to view just don't really depict the item. The shawl is soft. I am potato chip knitting and have already begun one in pink/coral. Just like Carol did. Carol, my hero!

So hormones. Well, let us just say that one should never ever underestimate the power of the female hormones. Pippa, sort of, went after Fireman Saturday night. She just doesn't like him.
So odd. Everyone likes Fireman. What's not to like? I climbed into bed with him after my shift to a muffled, "Im not going in there again... She scratched me something fierce."

Pippa has hormones, and lots of them right now. It is her job to protect and feed and grow those 6 kittens right now. It is an enormous job. For some reason, she doesn't want Fireman near her. Yet she rubs up against him and acts like she does. Then, look out!

I bear witness to women with powerful hormones rushing through their new mother veins, every day at my job. You must be....careful. You must move slowly. You must understand the innate value of a mother's job to protect her young.....You must let her be ......
I was a mother with powerful hormones once. I nearly bit the finger of a woman who stroked my Allison's cheek in the grocery store. Truly.
Fireman was there. He can testify. I didnt' want that strange woman's finger anywhere near my new baby in her car seat in the cart. I snapped my warning, "PLEASE DONT TOUCH MY BABY" in the produce department. Fireman said to me , "Geez Kath, settle down."
Pippa, I understand.

Do you remember the mother SHE BEAR instinct???

Completely understand. When I had Bubbies 9 months ago, all these people were looming over me, giving me unwanted advice. I finally snapped at hubs and said, "I've done this before. Everyone needs to back off and stop telling me what I NEED to do." Yup! Had lots of mama hormones going.

No biological maternal ... anything here, but my roommate had a terrier that suddenly decided I was the only human that could get near her or her pups. It wasn't her first litter either. Go figure.

Yup - Mamma hormones are a scary thing indeed!

I don't know about Franklin's class but the photo with the wine bottles is great! That's my kind of knitting!

If the instinct to protect our babies is caused by hormones I've been hormonal for many, many years. We are like momma bears with our babies.

As a childless person I can't say that I have. I am very protective of my nieces and nephews and when they were babies I hated for nasty strangers to touch them.

And here I thought the hormones had something to do with the pretty display of bottles on the table!! LOL

Yes mother bear and her cubs. Doesnt matter what the species, you DON'T get between the mom and her babies.

Funny...my boys are 30 and 31 and I STILL have that instinct! Love to the kittens...they are so sweet! The shawl is beautiful!
Lovely shawl! Its very hard to take photos of knitting. I've never been a mother, but I can surely understand how one would react and feel about protecting one's child.
