Really Simple Shawlette

I'm trying to simplify...things....all around me. Maybe I should say that things around me are simple and I am working on not complicating things....Yes, Let me say it that way.

This is my Really Simple Shawlette (pattern by aitchcreatvies). It is more than half-way done. I am using color #105 Artyyarns Supermerino that someone put in the swap box. So soft, so natural looking. The colors say "Floral" to me. Greens and pinks shades are universally floral in my mind.

I'm trying to keep other things from getting complicated around here, like:

My dad had a small little post op complication. It took up some of my energy yesterday on an already busy day, but the outcome is good. No complications would have been better, but I know better than most, that medicine is not math.

My sister is visiting unexpectedly from PA. She has 4 daughters. I adore them . We are hosting the oldest two. Nora is 18 and Jeanne is 15. We are keeping it simple. Just spending the little time we have together chatting and relaxing. No running around. I gave Nora some fingerless mittens I made last spring and had hidden away. I gave Jeannie the faux cabled scarf I just finished. They were so grateful and excited to have them.

Fireman and I are donating blood today at noon. It has been awhile and time to get back to donating. Simple as that.

Are you good at keeping things from getting complicated???

Help me out here...

I'm working on a very similar shawl and embarrassed to say I haven't worked on it in months.

Yup! Keeping it simple. Dropped oldest at school. Took baby to daycare. Getting some me time!

I am. It requires me to "regret" to some things I'd like to attend, but I need down time...

Oh I wish I could help but I have never been good at keeping it simple! I'm hoping you can give me some pointers!! When I have a peaceful moment I say, "Wow there it is. That's what I want to achieve on a permanent basis." Keep up the keeping it simple good work!

Love, love, love the shawl. THAT kind of simple I understand.

very pretty shawlette, sometimes simple is my favorite form of knitting!

simple life---I think we do, we aren't socially outgoing, we enjoy each others company, we prefer long drives, to tours and waking, we eat out at simple places so we don't have to worry about dress codes, we try to live as structure free as possible.

I try to keep things simple by fighting against my perfectionist nature. I also quit arguing (for the most part) with my 4 and 6 year olds. It's so much easier to reply, "That's too bad. I hope you won't get too hungry." to "I'm not going to eat this!" than to reply and try and enforce, "Yes, you need to eat it!"
I'm also trying to declutter my house; I don't know that it will ever be done but it has helped simplify things a lot.

I'm big into keeping it simple - less IS more. Spend a weekend day a home. No committments, no rushing, no shopping...just hanging. Good for recharging.

Oh it's beautiful and I love the colors. I'm going to have to look up that pattern and see if it's something I could manage.

I started simplifying things around our house. I took a home organization class and began tossing things out, giving them away or selling them at a yard sale. (We got $600.00 richer over a weekend :)) Simplifying your environment is so much easier than simplifying the people around you :) If you figure that out, let me know :)

I work on simple all the time. As a mom of 4 boys it was almost a necessity! Now, with the boys become men, simple has become a habit and a preference. I almost miss the chance to go snazzy once in a while...love the colors on your shawl.

scrabble...I love the term go snazzy!! ! Ihave never heard ti.

By the way... I frogged the shawlette last night. ....too many little errors.
It is magically converting to a neck cowl gift I am knitting for swap. Shhhh
Complications occur at every turn, so instead, I just opt to go for organization and make lists (lots of lists!)

In order to simplify one's life, it is often a matter of changing your perspective first. :)

10 minutes a day for knitting can help you find the calm. Or hours... ;)
I like your idea of trying to keep things simple it is always best and sometimes you just have to clear your schedule and just take a nap or read a book or knit a simple project:)(((Hugs)))Darcy
