One Tiger Sock done

This is the Opal sock yarn I showed last week, knitted up. I think it is fun and tiger-like. Mostly tiger-like. Every once in awhile the strand of yarn sports a red and green for some reason I can't fathom. Have any of you found this is the Opal yarn? I wonder if it is a mistake......

Speaking of mistakes.........there is one dropped stitch on the underside of the heel of this sock. I tacked it down with a tiny thread. I get absolutely disheartened when I see a dropped stitch and can't bear to rip out the sock. I swear I was counting the whole sock. Does this happen to you? How do you fix it. Especially if you plan to give the socks as a gift....which I may.

I knit the sock on 3's with 64 stitches. Used a basic sock cuff down pattern with a round toe finish. Second sock start this afternoon! It is a kitchen work day off. :)

I talk more in the comments!

Congrats! I haven't finished an adult sock in a very long, long time. I miss knitting socks... but can't seem to get back into it!

As long as the stitch is secured, it should be fine. I call those "design enhancements." If I find a dropped stitch and it is less than 20 rows back, then I will use a crochet hook to fix the problem. If I am nearly finished, I tack it down and move on.

Love the "tiger" effect.

I have a skein of Opal Tiger but I don't think it has any other colors in it. I hope it doesn't since it kinda messes up the tiger effect.

Is that one of the Opal Hundertwasser colorways? They are based on the colors in Hundertwasser paintings and have little areas of color that don't look like they really should be there if you don't know they're in the painting.

I had never heard of Hundertwasser before Opal came out with the collection. After knitting one of th Hunderwasser colorways and wondering, like you, why that strange little section of color had to be in my sock, I made sure not to buy any more of them.

Oh sweet Tiger Sock how do I love thee--even with a slipped stitch at your heel. I told another knitter just yesterday that DD loves my knitting mistakes because they reinforce that if Mom isn't perfect she doesn't have to be either. Love those dropped stitches!
