Ask Kathy B a Question Day

This is lovely Lisa who is showing us the Lotus Leaf Scarf that Karen made out of Touch Me. It is soft as velvet. Softer.
We all made sort of obscene noise when we felt it. That's how good it is. Karen used the pattern by Dovetail Desighs. She knit on size 7 needles to minimize worming. Smaller needles will keep the worming down she says. Then, she felted it. There is 5% wool hidden in there somewhere. It really made the worms invisible.

Corrections: Oh dear I am now have to post corrections to the posts! Karen's Christmas tree hat came from Ravelry. I thought she made it all up! She could have you know. She is knitbrilliant.

So for one day only, I'll answer any questions. Took this idea from Stitches of Violet's blog. Go ahead, ask!

I realize it is quite possible I have already told you more than you ever want to know!
I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

1. Where can I get Touch Me? It looks yummy! (And you friend Lisa is so cute!)
2. Do you own a Snuggie? I really want one but it's too hot here for it so I thought I would live vicariously through you.
3. How are the empty-nesters getting along? It must be hard especially with Huck gone. I have a rotten little dog you can have if you nudge me a bit!
You didn't say we couldn't ask more than one question so:
4. How long have you lived in your lovely house? Did your kids grow up there? I'll be good and stop....

My questions:
What are you knitting at the moment?
What non-sheepy yarns do you most want to try out?
Just lovely:)Hugs Darcy

Katherine!

I get my Touch Me at the store a block away from me. Tell me what color and how many and I'll be your shopper!

I have a SLANKET! Al gave me one for mothers day! So wonderful. Except the cats seem to love it too.

Fireman and I are enjoying the new freedoms of the empty nest. BUT we miss Huck desperately.

We moved into our home in 1983. INterest rate was 13.8% during the Carter years.....

I JUST CAST OFF my shoulder scarf thing. I'll post soon. Up next? Something out of lushous bamboo in a dreamy creamy color.

Non sheep yarns I want to try: Amy R. Singer has me wanting to try silk! Have you?

Touch me looks like a wonderful yarn to me. :-) You are lucky with a yarn store down the block!

My question: Did you ever hear of:
John Miles
Roxette
Sharon den Adel
Jean "Toots" Thielemans
OMD?

And what do they have in common?

Well no Bianca. BUt I googled John Miles. The music director for tina turner???? I guessed all the names had a music link.

John Miles is organising Night of the Proms, and all the others mentioned are this year's featured artists. They tour through Europe, and from now until the 22nd they are in Rotterdam. Alexa and Steven are going to see the Nov 22 concert.

Thanks for the good tips on Touch Me... we sell it at our shop (www.fibersgrassvalley.com), and I keep petting and admiring it, but hadn't thought about how light felting would make it so much more wearable! You are such an enabler:)
