I love a granny square at this angle!

Wow. I came across this pillow and had to share it. At this angle there is something that captures my attention in the look. What is it? (and just because we are talking angles, have you read THE ANGLE OF REPOSE by Wallace Stegner? I call you a READER if you have. My personal favorite is his Crossing to Safety)

I have to tell you a few funny things that I've come across as I go through life without Huck....

I drove to see Allison in the big city on Saturday. I got lost. Kind of scarey lost. It wouldnt have helped me and
Honda Rhonda, had I taken the GPS. I mixed up the name of her street. There is no good excuse for this!

Fieman and I are both distracted. He forgot the way to our dear friend Gee's house. We have been going there
for YEARS. He has gone by car and by hundreds of times by bike as he cycles in her neighborhood.

Then a friend at work told me this story when she found out about Huck's passing last night.

Denise and her family recently lost their beloved dog. This dog was more special to her than her
husband. Her husbands favorie dog ever was the dog they had before her.

So they take the dog to the vet to put her down, and afterwards, the vet asks about disposal.
Denise said, 'OH I have to have her ashes!"
and her husband said ,
"We didnt get (insert his favoirte dog's name here) 's ashes when HE died!"

and their now 20 year old twin sons say:
"Then what did we bury in the yard last time!!!!!!!!??????"

and they had to fess up. They couldn't afford the dog's ashes at the time
so they had taken some from the fireplace to bury so the boys would feel
better years ago..

We all laughed hysterically about this last night. Oops. Grief brings out the truth!

have a great day!

I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

I'm a reader then! I've read Angle of Repose several times--one of my all-time favorite books.

Healing from the loss of a pet takes a long time and laughter is the best medicine! That's a great story especially considering how terribly expensive pet cremation has become!

Fireman also loved the Angle of Repose.

so sad about their poor dog, but the story is sweet and funny. I do love that pillow! Apparently, though, I'm not a reader haha because I have not read that. I guess I need to!

I just found your blog. I didn't know your dog, but am sorry for your loss anyway. I lost two of mine last year. Lucy died of liver disease and Monty of lung cancer. I think about them every day and miss them.

I have ten living barking dogs now and also find some time to knit and cross stitch. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I'll be back.
