Let's all celebrate: Sock yarn giveaway

I saved enough to buy the camera. I think I am in love with it. So is Zach. Nikon D40, has enough bells and whistles for me.

My legs are still screaming from working the extra hours, but it was worth it.

Let's all celebrate. Here's a little sock yarn contest:

Name the yarn, I believe it is Koigu, with a cute name for the colorway or something.

I'll pick a winner by the name that strikes my fancy: no random raffle this time.

Go ahead. Name that sock yarn. Two nice skiens.

I'm not sock knitting again anytime soon. I want to give it away.

I'll pick a winner on June 7th.

I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

It looks like "Figgy Pudding" to me--all dark and figgy with yummy custard sauce dripping over it. Gosh I'm hungry suddenly!

BTW your new camera does a great job! I like the way the background drops out a little and the foreground is sharp and focused.
The colorway should be called Banana Split:) Yummy and here is a recipe for making a Banana Split:http://www.recipezaar.com/Traditional-Banana-Split-139388

To me it looks like Loyola colors, so I'm saying, Loyola at Midnight!
(Can you tell I have colleges on my brain?) BTW, My daughter, Lauren, (works at 3BF) goes to DePaul, too. I'm hope Zach likes it as much as she does!

The suggestion came from one of my kids ;-)

How about "Deep Space Sun?" I guess the science geek in me won out. :)

Thanks for a beautiful contest!

My first thought was "Pansies"... it looks like the riot of pansies I have in my front garden every year, particularly the yellow/purple ones. Other thoughts on this theme would be "Jump Up" (for Johnny jump-ups) and "Viola tricolor" (the scientific name)

How happy-looking!

I'd name it "sunshine and lupines"

And congrats on the Nikon - WOW!

Your yarn totally rhymes with this flickr photo:

Autumn corn would be a great name for it.

This yarn reminds me of two lovely things. First,a late summer August afternoon with a mouthful of sun-warmed berries. So maybe, August Berry Afternoon, or even Blueberries for Sal (a kid's book).
And, of course, violets' larger siblings, "viola"

Indian Corn was immediately what I thought of, but several people have already said that. What about King Louie... it has a regal look to it as well.
