Cabin Fever.....

I've got it bad. Let's just leave it at that. In an effort to fight right back, I decided to knit on the back porch for the last half hour. It is 25 degrees out and sunny. Vitamin D recharge. I'm going to see if I can make this a habit. No, not knitting........the Vitamin D dose.

My new earrings arrived today. I won them in a Valentine Ravelry Swap. Nancy of Sassafras Creations makes them out of knitting needles. I went for the artsy fartsy image today. They are very fun to wear. Very very light. Since the hat charity drive is over, I've been missing fun mail. Well, the gas bill was 70 dollars less than we budgeted for this month......that could be percieved as fun mail. And trust me, no one has been hurt from wearing their coats and hats in the house...

Something else arrived this weekend. Girl Scout cookies. When I was pregnant with Al, twenty one years ago, (her birthday is this friday) I gained 3 lbs this last week of gestation. My doctor said the weight was all mine, none of it the baby's. Well, the Girl Scout thin mints arrived this same week back then, too. I think I've already told you about the time I nearly knocked the Girl Scout down when she delivered them in a snowstorm by wagon..........there was no chocolate in the house and no hope of going out to get any....and yet, the bell rang and it was delivered.

As for my slow knitting, it is really slow. I hope to finally have a little FO to show you tomorrow.

Do you have cabin fever? Girl Scout cookies? A vitamin D trick?
I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

Lovely ear-rings! What a wonderful prize...

Ooo, I need to go out and get Girl Scout cookies. I think everyone loves Thin Mints. I also love the coconut caramel ones, can't remember the name, but it's kind of different.

I have my desk near a window so that I can easily look outside, for the natural light, and for my vitamin D (I keep the window open most of time and sun bathe in the light). I have the curtains open all the time during the day and only turn on the lights when it gets dark.

There's been NO vitamin D in London all winter - it's grey, grey, grey. I need to move.....

Take it easy with the knitting. Slow and no pain is definitely better than fast and lots of pain. Looking forward to seeing the FO.

I really hope our cookies are delivered before we move!

The worst part about moving to Northern Ohio has been the long cloudy winter-- I miss my North Carolina mild winters.

I am one of the few faculty members on my hall who keeps the blinds up all the time. Everyone else seems to like their offices to be like dark caves. Not me. need. light. now.

Congrats to Al on her upcoming birthday.

Happy birthday Al! The big two-one? That's a really special day.

Earrings from knitting needles--what a great idea and so pretty! Vitamin D: we are in the overdose stage in Texas. When a bill comes and it is less than expected the difference is yarn money. There's a law you know!

Yes to Cabin fever, Yes to Vitamin D deficiency and No to Girl Scout cookies, no one sells them door to door here, you can buy them at the grocers when they set up table sales but thats about it!

I want to move my knitting chair by the sun but with my bad back its out of the question. At least the sun is out, the blinds are up!!
