Will I ever learn?

My mom used to say that, "WIll you ever learn?" My mom meant it in the sweetest way. It usually referred to my arguing with my father when I couldn't read his cues. Well, will I ever learn not to knit on cold medications?

If you could be with me now, you'd think I was coughing up a lung with this silly cold. We use that expression often do you?
Anyhow in my cold medication fog, I thought I would knit just a bit. I've been knitting a hat with the sock yarn my neighbor Mary brought me from Austraila. Cheerful and sweet Patons that is incredibly soft too.

At some point last night it became a Mobius. I may frog the entire thing. How did I do this? I swear it was not twisted at the cast on. Is it even possible that I twisted it by knitting backwards or something? Was it really twisted for the last week and I didnt notice? And what is with the stitchmarkers?

I knit them INTO the hat. Oh Brother.....

Will I ever learn? I hope so. Eternal optimist that I am. Aren't we all? Brave knitters with hope at the start of every project.

We share our wisdom on our little blogs don't we?

Leave me some wisdom, please. Mine is, as mentioned, do not knit while taking cold medication. What's yours?

I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

Sweet Kathy, you should go to 3 bags full and see if they have stitch markers for crocheters. They have a hook (like a necklace closing) that you can open and close, you can hang it around your needle, or around a stitch... but it can be removed just in case you forget them! :)

It may be a knitting tragedy, but I can't help smiling at this. Too funny. Gorgeous yarn, though!

Okay I will make a confession, I always knit the first 4 rows straight and then join them in the round so I don't have a mobius hat, but don't tell anyone I cheat!!

My Mother told me I should never laugh at people on cold medication. Not laughing! Maybe you could make it a turban with a crossover in the front and some dangling decorations (stitch markers). Nah, frog it! The yarn is too pretty to waste on a turban.

My Mom always said, "Life's not fair." It stinks but it's so true.

Oh man! There must be some way to salvage it!

Oh no!!! I'm at a total loss for how that could have happened.

Will I ever learn to double check the oven temp in the granola recipe before putting it in? Common sense says granola would never cook for an HOUR at 450!!!!
I feel your pain. I knit 7 inches on a sweater this weekend and realized yesterday (as I counted stitches and ended up with too many) that I forgot/didn't read about all the k2tog on the decrease rows! stink!! I hate when that happens.

You think cold medicine is bad? You should have seen what I "accomplished" while knitting on the pain meds after my knee replacement!

Been there and done that! I too, now knit a few rows before joining inthe round. That way, it's easier to spot if I twisted it when joining. I love the cheeriness of that yarn.

Think of them as beaded decorations!

Great Gran embedded a brass stitch marker (old skool) into a sweater one time - we used the bolt cutters to get it out.
