Glorious Cables

Now those are cables eh? Al's scarf/hood is growing. She's had some issues with the pattern, that others shared in Ravelry . I know she isn't happy with the join, but she's patient. I love those chunky dramatic cables.

Someday I'l buy one of the gorgeous silver cable needles that Darcy Knotty Knitter sells. Have you seen them? I may hint for one for Valentines Day

I put the scarf on the piano so it would get some use. Piano lessons are a nasty memory in this house. I still insist it helped them do well in math. It must have done something for Zach when he began his love affair with the guitar. Now it is just an ornament in the living room. Occasionally one of the cats steps across the keys as someone tries to sleep of course...

The granola follow up : StitchingUnderOaks posted a nearly identical granola recipe on her blog. Thanks, now I dont have the tedium of writing mine out for anyone who wanted it. When you bake the granola, it makes your kitchen smell wonderful.

What are you knitting today?

I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

Boy do I love cables!! Don't tell, but I bet you could learn to cable without a cable needle. But then you couldn't have the pretty silver one - so maybe you shouldn't try!!

Love the cables. You are right about the math/music connection. My son's math teacher advised us to give him music lessons and his math improved greatly. Now he is an engineer.

My sister and I both took piano lessons when we were kids....from second grade on. She got married and left the house, about when I was entering high school and decided that I was too cool for piano lessons any more. My mother was so sick of seeing that piano sitting there unused that after a few years, she had it cut up and made the big turned legs into candle holders. Now I wish I had that piano.
