Can Used Be Saved?

My old Swing Coat is used. . I thought I'd love it. Never did. I wored it once or twice. It itched me something terrible. I put it on again the other night to be sure I hated it. Oh I sure did. The top button wouldn't come undone and I began to panic that I may have to cut myself out of the whole mess. Somehow I got away from the horrible yarn (Noro, I dare say. Gorgeous but like a brillo pad to wear against my skin)

Then I took the plunge and threw it in the washer to be felted. Joany, my friend encouraged me at the zoo the other day. After two good washings in a pillow case, with a pair of jeans as everyone says you should, I took it out.

It was so pretty felted together. All my mental lapses that resulted in glaring "issues" were gone. I know had something that I am determined to get a vest out of. It will involve some sewing.....but not by me! I think it will be wonderful.

The only thing we planted this year were pumpkins. They took over the whole garden with their gorgeous yellow blooms. I have a salvaged sweater vest and my own pumpkins. I'm a lucky one.

(I just tried this Cowboy Caviar at a party. I loved it. THere are many variations available. Here is the one we had a my neice's party:

Cowboy Caviar

3/4 cup oil
1 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar

Can garbanzo beans
Can black beans
Chopped celery
chopped green pepper
chopped red pepper
canned corn

Toss the dressing over the vegeatables. Chill awhile and enjoy with tortilla chips. MMMMMM.)

Felting! Great idea. I was looking at a pair of lime green socks that were accidentally washed and felted and I almost threw them away. Maybe I can make something out of them. The cowboy caviar sounds good too!

That sounds so much better than "real" caviar. I've had that a few times and I think it's awful.

A vest AND pumpkins! What a lucky girl! I'm thinking of planting pumpkins in my front flower bed. Maybe it's the one thing deer won't eat. Here's hoping....

I love Noro but also find it a bit scratchy. I use it for cardigans that way I can wear something under it.

 Is that vague enough for you?  It has been a too busy complicated Spring.  I had no energy to blog.  All is well now, so I can share some things with you:   1. I'm Making Bunny Rabbits

  These are the one square bunnies .  They are a free pattern on Rave1ry.  I'm bunny making to force spring to come.  I'm a1so taking it easy on my hands again.  The med we tried did keep my hands from shaking, but it was a med for a med. and that's crazy town.  I can contro1 a hook much better than need1es.  It wi11 have to suffice for now.  I'm enjoying your b1ogs and your Spring.  This time of year I so want to 1ive in a southern state.  But this Spring is a new one for me and I'm going to find a way to 1ove it.   IT may have just gotten to 50.   Degrees.  I have to run.  There's very ear1y yardwork to do.   The birds have 1eft a rotten mess of sunf1ower she11s under the feeders.  I hope it is not frozen!  Have you been switching things up in your neck of the woods?   I haven't forgotten you, b1og pa1s.  I 1ove seeing you on Instagram .

Do You Smile When You Knit???

I am pretty sure I smile when I knit.  I'm going to think about that today when I pick up the baby blanket in progress.  I am also pretty sure I cry when I knit; well, not really.  I have shed some tears over the years but they were way back.  I surely scowl when I drop a stitch.   A time lapse of knitters' faces would be interesting enough .... Tank, aka Helo, is starting to smile around here.  Just look into those aqua eyes......they make me smile all the time. He is half Siamese and all gorgeous.
