Knitting Up North

Meet my WIP: Knitting Pure and Simple's Easy Baby Cardigan, (free pattern...yes!) . Yarn : 400 yards of Berroco Jasper, 100% fine merino wool . Color number: 3831.

I'm no speedy quick knitter, but I did get this far in one week. No I didn't knit allnighters or increase my knit speed exponentially. I had time off and a 6 hour car ride on my side. Interrupted only by a Culver's vanilla malt and a deer that I will never forget missing our car by a nanosecond.

All of the things you've heard or said yourself apply including happened so fast as well juxatoposed with the feeling that time stood still in the moment those doey eyes looked right at us.

The most miraculous thing of all: I didnt even drop a stitch when it happened.

Show of hands please: have you ever come this close?
I'll talk to you in the comments. :)

Wow, no dropped stitches! I'm impressed!

Love the baby cardigan. That colour is gorgeous. I can't get Berroco yarn in the UK :(

Way to not lose your cool - dropping stitches is so not fun. I've had a couple close calls with deer....
the cardi looks great!

Yup, I've come that close -- only it was a moose. And I was driving (so I wasn't knitting). Gorgeous sweater! I have one of their patterns waiting in the wings for Younger Daughter ...
The baby sweater is so sweet. I have had a moment that was that close, not with a deer, with a person that was crossing the street between cars stopped at a light. I was in the left turn lane, which was moving and she stepped out between to cars right in front of me. Scared me to death...and her too.

Wow - there's nothing like a car ride to help a knitting project along.

Sorry about your near miss. I really live in fear of deer. We're surrounded by them in CT and they really do jump out of nowhere. I'm so glad you got through it safe and sound.

We have come deer-standing-in-road close, but never white's-of-the-eye close. I love the Berroco Jasper. The color is yummy and the sweater is very cute!

I have the same problems with deer where I live. I have never hit one but have seen them hit - so sad. Glad you didn't have to deal with that!

The sweater is super great and such a pretty color!
