I spilled the Beans

Confession: My floor is dirty. I spilled the coffee beans this morning. So, I made the best of it. Blog fodder!

I can't wait to show you my little gift for Grace. Nope, sorry , can't spoil the surprise.

Spent much of last night fussing over what I'll knit next. Then I heard about the tornadoes and it snapped me right back into reality. I think I was overtired. I should have just kept knitting away at wonderful Mineshaft throw. I've decided this morning, that I'll try to go to the little knit shop that is one block away, before the big weather hits here in Chicagoland, and get my yarn for a new blanket. Baby Blanket. I'm copying one, colors and all from Nonniknits. If I can get to the shop, there is always the possiblity that she won't be open.

You understand don't you? Some people in this house just don't understand that all the yarn I have stashed isnt going to work on the new blankie. Most of it is leftover sock yarns. You understand I know you do.

Oh, I only spilled most of the beans, I still had enough to make a 12cup pot of coffee. Phew. Silver lining.....always there

Trust you to find a positive in a heap of coffee beans on the floor. I can't imagine I'd've been able to do more than stare blearily at the mess muttering imprecations ...

Thank goodness it wasn't all the beans and you don't have to go without your morning coffee! Love your idea for neatening them up.

And I totally understand that old half used sock yarn just doesn't cut it when you want something specific for a new project. I hope she was open!!

ROTFL - that's just too funny. I love that you actually took time to create something blogworthy out of a coffee bean spill.

I hope you make it before the bad weather! There is nothing more calming than spending money on more yarn (and really, your family should be more understanding - you have to have the right tools for the job).

I understand! It's probably something like the discussion I had with DH when that one, lonely little skein of sock yarn came in the mail yesterday. What a fuss over one skein!

Knitting by the fire is perfect in the kind of weather you are having, and you need just the right yarn to do it.

Oh those beans!! Talk about making the best of a bad situation. Glad you still had enough for a pot of coffee.
