I'll have to just buy a toy from China I guess

Look what IrisheyesLynn knit up for a coworker's babygirl shower. She used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. Sweater Pattern found in Debblie Bliss Simply Baby. Hat pattern from http://heyjulie.wordpress.com/
The shower is in a week. There is no way I can knit anything near as cute. I guess I'll just give her some old made in China toy.......(I'm pouting)

It is absolutely adorable. I think you should buy some little jean jumper and blouse that perfectly match the sweater and hat. This new baby will have an entire ensemble and won't you look smart for starting this young lady off on the right foot for accessorizing!

LOL, you are so funny!!! One week? That's enough time to knit some cute stuff - after all, babies are tiny. How about a couple sets of baby socks. I bet they'd go FAST!

I knit up five or so bibs and burp clothes for someone using the Rowan denim once as a gift for a baby shower.

The sweater set is lovely - the color is just beautiful.

I really like Jennifer's idea... (Maybe you'd have time for a cute pair of coordinating socks or booties as well... I'm sure there's something you could knit quick.)

That is so so cute! I think you could most definitely get a pair of baby booties knit up in time. After all, what baby doesn't need booties?

I also vote for the idea of accessorizing - socks, booties, bibs so she doesn't mess up her lovely sweater. All much better than a toy from China that her mother will be afraid to let her use.

And Kathy, I just sent you my address re the Mary Poppins contest. Sorry for the long delay - I missed that post!

I agree with Elaine. In the past few months so many toys were called back that were made in China...it would be safe to knit up a few accessoires...

You could totally make the hat and matching socks in a week! Check the comments on my pattern post...second to last...someone wrote a little sock pattern to match it. Very cute!!
