Fairisles and Fades

Al has completed another Christmas gift for her little cousins. Note how the hat hovers near the beadboard porch ceiling. The technique she used for this will not be shared. Something to do with a cat whisker and pinch of mold spore. It simply cannot be done any other time of year here. Hee hee hee

The friends at 3 Bags Full had a going away party for Al last night. Best they didn't do it when she actually stopped working a few weeks ago. Al would have been puddling up. My husband and I do call her Puddles. Her blue eyes brim with tears easily. Always have. Anyhow, I digress.

They sure know how to make someone feel loved when they move on. My niece tells me that the new lingo for the going away party is called a FADE. Has anyone heard this?

I need to stop yapping at you and knit. I have several deadlines to meet and I don't like this feeling at all. Raglan sweater must move along. Twin Baby hat #2 must be started. Off to the real work of knitting...

Love the floating hat!! Never heard of a FADE. Thanks for making me feel old and out of it. LOL :)

Never heard of FADE, but I refuse to feel old and out of it--I think this must just be hopelessly obscure. :-)

Love the hat! Sorry I've been AWOL lately, it's been so busy. It's great to catch up and see what's going on in your world. I have another postcard for you. You'll never guess where it's from.

That is a beautiful hat! hats off to Al! How did she get that hat to float?

Gorgeous colors in that hat! I admire knitters who do fair isle and other complex colorwork... I wouldn't have the stamina or patience for such complexity. It's one of the reasons I stopped doing counted cross stitch and switched to knitting and crochet! LOL!

I am totally baffled by your hints(?) at how the hat was made to float. Sounds like something from a Harry Potter spellbook to me! :)

Never heard of the term "FADE" - is it also an acronym?
