The Lace Giveaway Contest

I'm making this really easy. Just leave me a comment with any kind of yarn/knitting email address. For Example, "I want the lace. Have you been to magknits.com?" That would count. Send me somewhere new if you can. Etsy pages count. Pattern pages count. Just about anything counts.

The Weeping Willow branches and leaves remind me of an intricate lace. We have many weeping willows in this area of the midwest. Locust tree leaves remind me of lace as well. I love lace, I just don't want to knit it. Just looking at it makes me think of tears and frustration. Give me big old fat yarns....

Contest will end.....oh say....Monday Sept. 18th. Good luck. I have two prizes to give away. SO there will be two winners.

Please leave me your email or blog so I can thank you for your comment.

Dear Kathy, It's kind of sad that you don't want your lace yarn. But it's sweet of you to give it away.
Here's a link to some Japanese patterns - enjoy!

I'm so fond of lace yarn I'm teaching myself to spin just so I can make as much as I want. But in the meantime, I'd love to have the lace yarn!

I think I can point to an obscure little corner of the online knitting pattern world - my own humble pattern offerings, at Folkcat's Free Patterns. Only two, and they're fairly simple, but I can claim them as my own!

I won't enter this one since I won the last one, but how nice of you to offer your lace yarn. I love the picture in the last post of Huck, what a great dog

Here's the most interesting knitting thing I have seen in awhile - square needles.

What do you think? Worth a try?

Got Lace?

This site has a large assortment of different yarns. I have ordered from them myself and have no complaints. While the site is not fantastic, the yarns and prices are.

Try WNW: www.woolneedlework.com/

You're giving away yarn. How generous!
I want to share with you my most favorite sock pattern by way of the designer's web site. http://www.nwkniterati.com/movabletype/mossycottage/
Down on the left there are pdf files. My favorite is the Dublin Bay socks. You say you don't like the frustration that comes with lace but you like lace. Well these socks are very plain with just the tiniest bit of lace on the sides. It's easy lace. Very easy lace.

As an ever willing enabler, have you seen pickupsticks.ca yet? It's a great new little store in Canada specializing in handpainted sock yarns! I have my first order on the way, but I could always use some more lace weight:) hehe

Oh, and for terrific sock patterns check out www.wildhorsefarmdesigns.com/index.php

They have some really cute patterns for not too much $.

I'm actually not a fan of laceweight yarn (the horror!), but a friend of mine is, so give it to her: www.isisrising.typepad.com

Oooh, lace yarn....I have lace on my list of things to master this year....maybe some new yarn will encourage me to move this back up on my list (as it keeps getting demoted for other projects)!

I think this site is enough to get one to start wanting a nice lace shawl to wrap around their shoulders

And have you ever seen Eunny's blog? She is such an inspiration with the little sticks!
