Arizona makes for a better picture....

I know I've already shown Al's work off, but I love the way it looks in ARIZONA. While there, Al became a fingerless glove fan in the Grand Canyon! She borrowed the first pair I'd ever made. They were a simple garter stitch with two strands of koigu knitted together. I am happy to hear, they were perfect for the Grand Canyon days. It will be fun to see her join the world of fingerless gloves. Someday socks AL?

While they were flying home last night, I busied myself with her lace socks. I am at the toe part now. I don't know why I was so intimidated with a pattern on a sock. The Montana Woolie pattern is easily written and once I actually did the knitting it made sense.....ahhh the Joy of socks. The pattern is a simple faggot lace repeat.

In other kind of knitting related news, I went to drop-in at my LYS for some pattern help. I am frogging the Ballerina shell. I am combining a Knitting Pure And Simple shell pattern, with the Ballerina shell. I like elements of both. Jen helped me with some measurements and pattern dove-tailing. While there she mentioned her brother's new website: Milkbandits.com. So CUTE! Check it out.

Thanks for this lovely photo of the vest. I had liked it the first time you posted about it, but this photo is much better.

Looks like the Grand Canyon weather was great. I know I told you it's wet, snowy, and muddy in March, but this year we haven't had the wet weather at all. Good for your trip, but overall really not the best. Glad to see they had a good trip.

Sure wish I were wearing shorts and that cute vest in a warm, sunny place right now; I have on fingerless mitts while I type - the simple ribbed ones I showed in the photo, and started another pair yesterday. There are a few burro photos under "E is for Equine" posted Friday - thanks for the visit.

That's a great vest! Do you happen to know what yarn it is?
